The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences recently held a “Site Exhibition on the Research and Development of Vegetable Green Development Technology Integration Model” in Shouguang City, Shandong Province, and launched the “Three Health and High Efficiency (4H)” production model, which is conducive to consumer health, producer health and origin. The data shows that the total area of ​​vegetable cultivation in China is 320 million mu, and the total output is 769 million tons. The total output value ranks first in China's planting industry. However, the bottleneck of the development of the vegetable industry, such as the hidden dangers of product safety caused by excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, the increased risk of environmental pollution at the place of production and the decline in economic efficiency caused by the rising labor costs, has seriously affected the green development of China's vegetable industry.

In response to the above problems, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences has included the “Research and Demonstration of Green Crop Technology Integration Models for Vegetable Crops” in the Collaborative Innovation Project for Science and Technology Innovation Projects, led by the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and organized the joint implementation of 12 units inside and outside the hospital. . It integrates green prevention and control of vegetable pests and diseases, overcoming obstacles for continuous cropping, precise regulation of water and fertilizer, and intelligent control of the environment. It can reduce the application of chemical pesticides by more than 40%, reduce the application of chemical fertilizer by more than 30%, and save more than 20% of water. , saving more than 40% of labor, and increasing efficiency by more than 15%. At present, 1300 mu of core demonstration base has been established in Shouguang, Shandong, the hometown of vegetables, and the radiation promotion area has reached 300,000 mu.

Earthworms are a major pest that harms the production of amaranth. Zhang Youjun, a researcher at the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, found that the larvae grow on the surface of the soil at a depth of 5 cm, and they die if they are above 40 °C for 3 hours. Based on this discovery, his team invented the "film laminating method" technology, which can completely kill the larvae in a suitable season by laying a transparent film on the ground.

This technology is one of the contents of the “Technology Integration Model for Green Development of Vegetable Crops”. Yu Xianchang, the project's chief expert and researcher at the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said that the model consists of 10 core technologies.
