At present, there are 19 professional committees under the China Pharmaceutical Association. According to reports, the so-called molecular pharmacognosy is a new discipline that is formed by the intersection of molecular technology and traditional Chinese medicine resources. At present, molecular pharmacogenetic research mainly focuses on the following 9 areas: molecular systematic studies of medicinal plants, molecular biological studies of medicinal plant germplasm resources, molecular identification studies of Chinese medicinal materials, and molecular mechanisms of authentic medicinal materials formation , Analysis of Genetic Diversity and Conservation Strategies of Rare and Endangered Chinese Medicinal Resources, Studies on Resistance Gene Engineering of Medicinal Plants, Biotransformation and Molecular Mechanism Studies of Medicinal Chemical Components, Studies on Molecular Mechanisms and Regulation of Biosynthesis of Active Components in Medicinal Plants And medicinal plant cells, tissues and transgenic organ culture and active ingredient production. Related research highlights the combination of inheritance and innovation and represents a new direction for the study of TCM resources.

The satellite will be organized by the Institute of Chinese Materia Medica, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences.
