Breakthrough in key technologies for rapeseed production

The results showed that the demonstration and promotion in the southern region exceeded 2 million mu, and the newly added rapeseed was 350 million kilograms. The direct economic benefit was 2 billion yuan, which led to a steady increase in the planting area of ​​rapeseed in Hunan and even in the south. In a province of Hunan alone, the area planted with rapeseed increased from 18.9 million mu in 2013 to 20.5 million mu in 2018.

At present, the self-sufficiency rate of edible vegetable oil in China is only 35%, and the annual gap is 27 million tons. If we can make full use of the 400 million mu of winter leisure land resources in the south to develop rapeseed production, it is expected to improve the safety of China's edible oil. In recent years, the production of multi-cooked rapeseed in rice fields in southern China still faces two major problems. First, the low efficiency of the rapeseed industry led to a decline in planting area and shrinking of industrial development. Second, the decline of land productivity and increased consumption in the paddy fields in the south, and the development of rice field annual multi-ripe planting to ensure the sustainable development of rice fields. To this end, the team headed by Chun Yun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, has carried out a number of outstanding research results.

It is understood that the team researched the formation of the theory of hybridization of Brassica juncea, and created a new germplasm of yellow seed rapeseed with high oil content and high oleic acid content. Taking yellow seed rape as a breakthrough, 16 new varieties of "three high" rapeseed new varieties with a yield of 200 kg per mu, oil content of 48% or more, and oleic acid content of 75% or more were bred, and the new crops increased their contribution by 200 yuan per mu. the above. Through radiation mutagenesis breeding technology, a series of new rapeseed germplasm and new strains with oleic acid content of over 80% were created, of which up to 93.6%.

The study also examined the changes of nutrients in paddy fields under rice oil rotation, and proposed a way to use rice oil rotation as a nutrient. This original natural science achievement provides a solid theoretical foundation for the sustainable development of rice oil in the south. “At present, various paddy field farming systems such as 'rice + green manure', 'rice + potato', 'rice + corn', etc., are also being carried out to study the synergistic and sustainable research of the cultivation methods of the rice fields, which is forming a sustainable innovation system for the southern rice fields.
