"Terrorism" becomes a new social issue

The reporter Zheng Lingqiao learned from the 2011 China Public Health Information Dissemination New Angle of View Conference held in Beijing that 59 people who have long suffered from mental suffering have become suspicious of HIV infection. None of the results have been found through comprehensive clinical examination and medical tests. None of the HIV infections have infectious diseases that can explain their symptoms. Experts said that AIDS phobia is becoming a new social problem and it needs to explore new care and intervention strategies.

Since 2002, the China CDC has received hundreds of complaints from online chat rooms. The complainant's private prosecution had similar symptoms of AIDS and self-doubt was "undetectable HIV infection" and asked the government to take action to find out the pathogen.

In January last year, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention on-site epidemiological training in China recruited “suspected infected people” through the Internet to Beijing, and 59 out of 88 applicants were selected for survey and testing. Of the 59 people, 54 were men, from 22 provinces and cities, with an average age of 34 years. Among them, 84.7% of people complained of high-risk behavior before symptoms appeared, and the average time between “exposure” and “symptoms appeared” was 15 days. The results of clinical examination showed that 40 of the 59 patients had no obvious organic lesions, while the remaining 19 had some common non-specific changes that were not related to HIV infection; 17 had 1 abnormal biochemical test value, but each had their own complaints. Clinical symptoms do not match. According to tests conducted by the National Reference Laboratory of the China National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, all 59 HIV antibody, syphilis antibodies, and heterosexual mouse leukemia virus-associated virus tests were negative, and one patient was positive for hepatitis C virus.

It is reported that 11 QQ groups have been known to have gathered HIV-infected persons. The so-called “virus mutation” and “unknown virus” information exchanges have been conducted through online chat rooms and forums, and other suspicious individuals have been followed.
