Once the ice is gone, close the valve, fill the system with hot water, clean any external dirt, and identify the crack location.
2. Typically, the cylinder head and engine block are designed to withstand freezing. When freezing occurs, the antifreeze plug may expand to protect the engine. Therefore, if the freeze isn't severe, the engine might not suffer major damage. Even if cracks occur, they usually appear in weaker areas. In such cases, pressure in other parts of the system will drop significantly, reducing the risk of further cracking. So, once the engine freezes, it's important to act quickly to prevent more serious issues.
3. If the machine is frozen and cracks are present, they may not be visible on the outside. After a visual inspection, loosen the oil pan drain plug. If water starts to leak, drain the oil, remove the oil pan, and carefully check for the source of the leak.

1. Once a crack is identified, repair it using appropriate methods such as welding, sealing, or metal plating, depending on the severity.
2. If the radiator has minor leaks, you can plug the ends of the water pipes and continue using the system. However, if there are significant cracks, it's best to weld the damaged areas before putting the machine back into operation.
