The technical point of cultivation of muddy seedlings

After hatching from the muddy seedlings, the yolk sac was completely absorbed within three days, allowing the fry to swim freely and start feeding. It is essential to transfer them to nursery ponds promptly—ideally, they can be raised in the same small ponds where they hatched. The stocking density should be around 800–1000 fry per square meter. The nursery pond size should not be too large; a range of 50–100 square meters is most suitable. The pond should be dug out and have a depth of 20–30 cm. Before stocking, it’s important to disinfect and clean the pond thoroughly, then apply organic livestock fertilizer to promote the growth of natural food organisms. At the beginning, only a thin layer of water should be added to the fish slide. Once the fry have adapted and started feeding actively, the water level can be gradually increased to the desired depth, ensuring even distribution of the fry throughout the pond. Feeding should start with finely ground materials such as cooked egg yolk, fish meal, milk powder, and soy milk. After a few days, transition to boiled bran, corn flour, wheat flour, and vegetable leaves. Later on, you can introduce animal-based feeds like fish, shrimp, and snail meals. Feed the fry 3–4 times daily. Initially, feed about 2–5% of their body weight, increasing to 8–10% as they grow. After about a month in the nursery, the fry will reach a length of 3–4 cm and weigh approximately 0.4–0.5 grams. When they begin to dig into the mud, it’s time to move them to ponds, rice fields, or wooden crates for further rearing.
