Suitable for cultivation of six kinds of lettuce varieties over the summer

First, the summer green dress variety. This type was introduced from South Korea and is known for its emerald green, oval-shaped leaves that have a slightly bubble-like texture. The leaves are thin, semi-upright, and highly resistant to heat and pests. It's ideal for planting in late July or August, with harvests typically taking place in mid-October. The yield per acre ranges between 1,000 to 2,000 kg, making it a reliable choice for warm-season cultivation.

Second, the fast-growing variety from the United States. This lettuce grows quickly, reaching maturity in just 45 days. Its leaves are wrinkled with wavy edges, and they maintain a vibrant green color with excellent flavor. It is highly resistant to leaf scorch disease and adapts well to various conditions, including cold weather. This variety is commonly cultivated during the summer due to its high productivity and consistent annual yield.

Third, Red Sail Purple Leaf Lettuce, also introduced from the U.S. This variety features large, loose leaves with a beautiful reddish hue that deepens as it approaches harvest time. It is light-loving, less prone to bolting, and has good heat resistance. From sowing to harvest, it takes about 45 days, making it ideal for summer planting. The yield per mu can reach 1,500 to 2,000 kg, offering both aesthetic appeal and high productivity.

Fourth, Salinas. A medium-maturing variety from the U.S., this lettuce is known for its heat tolerance and resistance to diseases such as downy mildew and top rot. It has few outer leaves, compact inner joints, and dark green, slightly serrated leaves. The head is spherical, light green, and tightly packed, with each head weighing around 500 grams. It has a good appearance, quality, and transportability, making it a popular choice for commercial growers. It matures in about 50 days, with a planting spacing of 30 cm square, allowing over 7,000 plants per mu.

Fifth, Italy’s All-Year-Resistant Lettuce. This variety was introduced from Italy and is known for its purity, crisp texture, and excellent flavor. It exhibits strong resistance to heat, cold, and bolting, making it suitable for year-round cultivation. Even in hot summers, it grows normally without bitterness. It has a long harvesting period, high yield, and can produce over 2,000 kg per mu. Additionally, it is resistant to bacterial spot and leaf scorch, and remains firm even in rainy conditions, reducing the risk of rot.

Sixth, Olympia, a variety introduced from Japan. It has strong heat resistance and is very resistant to bolting. The outer leaves are small, light green, and have more notched edges, while the inner leaves are pale green, yellowish, and compact. Each head weighs between 400 to 500 grams, with a crisp texture and good taste. The growth cycle lasts 65–70 days, making it suitable for late spring, early summer, summer, and early autumn. Sowing can be done from April to July, with harvests running from mid-June to October. Planting at 25 cm square spacing allows for about 10,000 seedlings per mu, yielding 3,000 to 4,000 kg per mu.
