Plum Fertilization Technology

First, the characteristics of the root system

The roots of plums are shallow roots. Most of them are root-absorbing, mostly distributed in 20-40 cm soil layers. Horizontal roots are usually distributed 1.2 times larger than the diameter of the crown. The specific distribution range has a great relationship with species and environmental conditions. For example, in a deep sandy land, the vertical root system can reach more than 6 meters.

The accumulation of nutrients in the tree is closely related to the root activity, and the root system is also constrained by the activities of various parts of the above-ground parts. Therefore, the root system is mostly wavy. In general, saplings have three peaks in the whole year. Root temperature rises in the spring and activities begin. When the temperature is appropriate, the first peak occurs. This peak is mainly due to the consumption of nutrients stored in the previous year. With the growth of new shoots, nutrients are concentrated on the ground, and root activity shifts to low tide. When the slow growing fruit of the new shoot has not yet expanded rapidly, a second peak of hair rooting occurs at this time, and the nutrients consumed this time are produced by the photosynthesis of the leaves. After fruit enlargement, flower bud differentiation and high temperature, root activity turned into a low tide.

Mature trees have only 2 peaks of hair roots throughout the year. After spring root activity, they grow slowly until the end of the shoot growth. The first peak of hair rooting occurs. This is the main rooting season of the year and it is the autumn season. The second peak occurs.

Second, nutritional characteristics

Short fruit development time requires high quality fertilization: Li is an early mature fruit tree in fruit trees, and early maturing varieties range from 80 to 85 days from flowering to harvesting. Li Guo is smaller than other fruit trees, and measures to increase the fruit size of the plum tree are mainly controlled by rational fertilization in addition to fruit thinning and pruning.

It is very sensitive to nitrogenous fertilizers: According to the trials in the fruit testing field in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, the growth of plum trees is greatly reduced due to the lack of nitrogen. Under the same conditions, the impacts on plum, sorghum, and olive trees are much less than those of plum trees. According to the growth and development needs to be fertilized in appropriate periods: In order to increase the effect of fertilization, different fertilizers should be applied according to the needs of the growth and development of plums. Phosphorus, calcium, and magnesium fertilizers centered on basal fertilizer should be applied at one time. However, for nitrogen and potassium which have a greater impact on tree growth and fruit enlargement, part of the annual fertilization amount should be converted to top dressing application.

Third, fertilization technology

1. Basal fertilizer: Basal fertilizer is the basic fertilizer that is provided to nutrients in fruit trees for a long period of time. Autumn basal fertilization is better than spring priming, and early autumn is better than late autumn or winter. This is because, in early fall fertilization, the root system grows at a positive peak, the root cleaves easily to heal and grow, the fertilizer rots, the decomposition time is sufficient, the mineralization degree is high, and it can be timely absorbed and utilized by the fruit trees; it can also increase the soil temperature and reduce root freezing damage; some fertilizers can Absorbed by the tree during the year, it is conducive to the manufacture and storage of organic nutrients. This is of great significance for satisfying budding, flowering, fruit setting and growth and development of fruit trees. The basal fertilizer uses more organic fertilizers and balanced compound fertilizers. The organic and inorganic fertilizers are fully mixed during fertilization, and deep-seated ditching is applied.

2, top dressing: As the base fertilizer is mostly long-acting fertilizer, play a smooth and slow effect of fertilizer, when the fruit trees need fertilizer urgent time, must be timely supplement fertilizer. Therefore, topdressing is also called compensatory fertilizer. The time and frequency of topdressing are related to climate, soil quality, age, and so on. Li Shu's common practice is top dressing before flowering, top dressing after flowering, top dressing during fruit enlargement, and top dressing after harvesting. The high-nitrogen compound fertilizer was selected in the early stage and the high-potassium compound fertilizer was selected in the later stage.

Sweetener

D-tagatose is a rare natural monosaccharide, which is the ketose form of galactose and the epimer of fructose. The sweet characteristic is similar to sucrose, and the heat produced is only one third of sucrose, so it is called low calorie sweetener. Tagatose has excellent nutritional characteristics such as low caloric value, zero glycemic index, blood glucose passivation, caries free, prebiotic effect and antioxidant activity. Tagatose has been approved by FDA as a pharmaceutical excipient for throat moistening tablets, over-the-counter diabetes cough syrup, chewable antibiotic tablets, non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and pediatric drugs. FDA Approves tagatose to replace sucrose and other sweeteners in toothpaste, mouthwash and cosmetics.
