Sri Trang Gloves (Thailand) Public Company Limited, one of the largest glove manufacturers globally, has expressed a keen interest in establishing a robust presence in the United States by developing a large-scale manufacturing campus. This move aims to enhance their production capabilities within the world’s largest glove consumption market, ensuring faster delivery times and greater supply reliability for American customers.
The proposed campus, spanning over 100 acres, will act as a strategic North American hub for Sri Trang. It will include a state-of-the-art nitrile glove manufacturing plant, a distribution and warehousing center, and an administrative office. This expansion will complement Sri Trang’s existing operations in Tampa, Florida, through its subsidiary, Sri Trang USA, Inc., while also bolstering their distribution network along the eastern seaboard.
Once fully operational, the new facility is expected to produce approximately 2.5 billion nitrile gloves annually by the end of its first year. The plant will integrate cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, artificial intelligence, and advanced automation to maintain Sri Trang’s high standards of efficiency and productivity, which are synonymous with their operations in Thailand.
In addition to boosting domestic supply chains, this initiative aligns with “green†principles by exploring the use of locally sourced materials, multipurpose spaces, and sustainable energy solutions. The creation of hundreds of high-quality jobs across various sectors—such as production, engineering, and logistics—is anticipated. In collaboration with local and federal authorities, Sri Trang hopes to secure incentives that further support this endeavor.
According to William E. Harris III, CEO of Sri Trang USA, Inc., “By bringing glove production closer to our primary consumer base, we eliminate many challenges associated with long-distance imports. This move not only strengthens our commitment to U.S. clients but also positions us as a critical resource for glove expertise in North America. These gloves will be tariff-free, unaffected by supply chain disruptions, and available under both Sri Trang-branded and OEM products.â€
Sri Trang’s journey began in January 1989 with a single factory and has since evolved into the biggest glove manufacturer in Thailand. Today, they operate ten production facilities across three campuses in Thailand. Their Hat Yai campus spans 160 acres housing 100 production lines. The Surat Thani campus, covering nearly 120 acres, features 28 lines, while the Trang campus occupies 232 acres with 24 lines. Collectively, these facilities produce 35 billion disposable gloves per year, exported to more than 140 countries worldwide.
