Fifteen Months

It was one of those mornings where sleep felt like a distant memory, even before the first light crept through the curtains. The cries from his room across the hall pulled me out of bed faster than I could fully wake up. My movements were sluggish, but I forced myself to shuffle forward, avoiding walls that seemed to move closer with each step. By the time I reached him, I already had a plan—wrapping him up in the cozy embrace of our white down comforter. It wasn’t much, but it always worked. A few hours later, sunlight streamed through the window, casting a golden glow over the room. There he was, sprawled across the bed, his chubby little legs somehow finding their way into my arms. His face was relaxed, his breathing steady, and for a moment, I just watched him—the tiny details of his face, the way his toes curled slightly at my touch, the gentle rise and fall of his chest as he breathed in and out. I couldn’t help but smile, marveling at how much this little person has changed us in such a short amount of time. Fifteen months old now, and it feels like he’s been part of our lives forever. He’s more than just a phase or a milestone; he’s the heartbeat of our home. There’s something magical about watching him grow, seeing all the little things he does that remind you just how much he’s learning every single day. From teething to running, from throwing everything within reach to forming words, it’s all happening so fast. [Insert Image: "FIFTEEN months"] Sixteen months is just around the corner, and I’m trying to soak it all in—the chaos, the laughter, the endless curiosity. His vocabulary is expanding faster than I ever imagined, and his favorite pastime remains throwing things with that fierce right arm of his. Watching him explore the world with boundless energy fills me with both joy and a touch of nostalgia. It’s incredible to think that what started as tiny hands gripping mine has turned into a toddler sprinting ahead, eager to discover everything around him. He’s teaching me patience, resilience, and the beauty of living in the present moment. And while I know the days will keep flying by, I’m grateful for every second we have together.
