Embossing craft greeting cards

After the flowers are processed, they're pressed into dried flowers and arranged into various beautiful patterns. These dried flowers are then attached to greeting cards, creating embossed craft cards designed to appeal to buyers. To create these cards, you'll need some essential tools: 1. Absorbent paper—clean, dry, moderately thick, and free of wax. This helps absorb moisture during the pressing process. You can purchase absorbent paper at a store, or use newspapers or old magazines as substitutes. 2. An embossing board with ventilation holes drilled into it for flattening the flowers. The board should be sturdy, heavy, and slightly larger than standard magazines or newspapers. 3. Heavy stones—slate, iron weights, floor tiles, or pebbles work well, totaling around 10–15 kilograms. 4. Scissors, tweezers, glue, and other auxiliary tools. 5. Blank greeting cards. For the embossing materials, you’ll want: 1. Small flowers in bright colors with beautiful patterns, medium-thick petals that dry quickly without losing shape or fading. Roses, forget-me-nots, and similar flowers work great. 2. Various attractive leaves like ginkgo or fern leaves to serve as supplementary materials. 3. Other elements such as flaky tree bark or butterfly wings to enhance the design. These materials can either be grown artificially or collected in the wild. If needed, you can press the absorbent paper and embossing board together before organizing them to keep the flowers fresh. The pressing process begins by trimming the flowers with scissors, removing any excess and keeping only the most vibrant parts. Place them in a well-ventilated, dry room. Lay several layers of absorbent paper on your workspace or embossing board, then arrange the flowers on top, covering them with more absorbent paper. Flatten the setup and add another layer of flowers. Repeat this until all your materials are used, then top it off with more absorbent paper and the embossing board, followed by the heavy stones. Ensure everything is balanced to prevent deformation. After 2–3 days, change the dry absorbent paper and trim the flowers further for a better appearance. Continue replacing the paper every 2–3 days until the flowers are fully dried. Store them under pressure in a ventilated, dry space. To make an embossed greeting card, select dried flowers and auxiliary materials based on the card’s theme. Arrange them into elegant designs on the blank card using white glue. Cover the card with absorbent paper and press it with the embossing board to flatten it. Once dry, you’ll have a one-of-a-kind craft card made from real materials. For a more visually appealing card with longer-lasting colors, consider adding dye, color protection treatments, vacuum coating, or additional coloring techniques. Creating these cards is both fun and rewarding, allowing you to share something handmade and meaningful with others.
