Eat more fish can reduce the damage of smoking

A recent study in a hospital in Dublin, Ireland, showed that eating fish can reduce some of the damage caused by smoking.

Editor recommends: Eating fish can also prevent prostate cancer. This study found that the amino acids contained in fish can stop arteriosclerosis and reduce the chance that people who smoke will die from heart attacks and strokes. In general, the cause of heart disease and stroke is atherosclerosis. One of the early symptoms of atherosclerosis is endothelial dysfunction (ie, the arteries cannot be expanded), and the main cause of endothelial dysfunction is smoking.

Prof. Hayes of Beaumont Hospital and colleagues examined the arteries of smokers and non-smokers by using a sphygmomanometer and an ultrasound scan. The results showed that the arteries of the former could not be expanded and the latter had no problem.

However, if the tester took a little 5 grams of "bovine mineral acid", which is a meal of amino acids contained in fish meal, their arterial expansion ability will be greatly improved. The researchers said that this finding proves that eating more fish can help treat endothelial dysfunction.

However, Professor Hayes emphasized that fish can't be used as an antidote to smoking. The best way to avoid the scourge of smoking is still to quit smoking. Some experts pointed out that smoking can cause cancer, respiratory diseases and more than 50 kinds of diseases, and endothelial dysfunction is only one of them.
